Ye Old Sun inn is very well known throughout the Yorkshire region for its consistency and quality. The reputation has derived from many years of service to the York community - at one point Ye Old Sun Inn was regarded as the only pub in York to serve food officially.The menu style you will find offered at Ye Old Sun Inn may be classed as traditional, however, the chef Ashley and the kitchen team have all had experience in many different styles of food ranging from traditional English to international influences, for this reason the menus that are offered have a bit of a twist in comparison to many other pubs in the local area. All the ingredients used are freshly delivered every morning by local suppliers, with many of the herbs and vegetables also taken from their purpose built ‘Poly Tunnel' and herb beds, both of which are visible from the spacious beer garden. The gardens surrounding the inn are full of home grown produce and herbs and the Inn now also features a new decked area for "al fresco" dining.Ye Old Sun Inn is a local and friendly Pub, which means that every person who steps through the door has a say in where the pub goes in future times, no comment no matter how small will ever be over looked. Also home of "Ye Old Deli, their little shoppers paradise full of home made and locally sourced items, the Ye Old Deli was the winner of the Publican magazine’s "Innovation of the Year 2006" and with Head Chef and Co-owner Ashley McCarthy nominated for UKTV Local Food Hero in 2007 it is easy to see that the Ye Old Sun Inn is a cut above.
