Dining fads come and go and recent years have seen the desire for casual dining very much elbow its way to the fore.That’s all very well but there is no substitute on that special occasion for the splendour of good old fashioned silver service, best enjoyed in a grand Georgian country house.If this is the sort of dining you are looking for, then you are probably already aware of the Georgian Restaurant at the Woodhall Hotel in Linton, Wetherby, because it is probably one of the finest of its type in Yorkshire. From the moment you arrive at this ivy covered listed building you quickly realise you are somewhere special. That feeling is further underlined by a glance at their menu which has starters that range from poached foie gras through to the more locally sourced Whitby crab. Their Winter menu features a dizzying array of main courses, with delights that include line caught turbot served with a warm Oxtail terrine, parsley mash, salsify and wild mushroom as well as a stunning loin of venison served with pumpkin, curly kale, blackberries and a cassis jus. 2 AA Rosette Restaurant.
