The Barking Frog Mediterranean restaurant was created by Robert Baker, a well travelled and experienced caterer. The restaurant recreates the feel and warmth of the Mediterranean and their expert chefs deliver great tasting food cooked individually for you.Mains include seared salmon and seabass served with sautéed potatoes, chargrilled asparagus with Tempura king prawns and a lemon and chive sauce or bacon wrapped pork fillet accompanied by fricasse of potato, mushrooms, spinach and shallots with a tomato and grain mustard dressing.Their service is friendly and efficient and will make you feel welcome the minute you step through the door.

" My wife and I visited on Sunday 17 Feb 2013 and we were really impressed. All the food we had was excellent and there were little extra touches thrown in (warm bread with dips before starter and home made chocolates with the coffees). The management and staff were all really friendly and went out of their way to ensure it was a great experience. The atmosphere in the place was lively (it was quite full and we were booked in at 7pm on Sunday) yet warm and intimate. Oh and the prices were reasonable also. All in all we would thoroughly recommend it. "

" The barking frog restaurant is located on the outskirts of Southport towards church town It is very pleasantly decorated inside they also have an a joining bar area which we assume is used at nighttimes We choose meals off the al la carte menu, mine was the shoulder of lamb it was accompanied by mash potato and a nice gravy my wife had the medallions’ of pork which was served with layonise potatoes and gravy we both shared a very good selection of vegetables Both our meals were delicious and very well presented As well as having an al la carte menu they also have various special menus at lunchtime they have a selection of meals for £5.95, £6.95 and £8.95 If you are in the area this restaurant is well worth a visit Our card on this occasion was marked as they said they get quite a few hi-life visitors and we can see why "
