Full Description
A William & Mary country house built in 1699, Middlethorpe is one of the finest hotels in the area. It has been immaculately restored to its original elegance and style - the decor, furnishings, antiques and pictures being consistent with the period of the house and provides luxury that would be difficult to surpass. It is set in 20 acres of its own mature gardens and parkland. The wood-panelled dining room overlooks the beautiful gardens, and is adorned with white linen, candles, marble fireplace, and silver cutlery. The modern British menu at Middlethorpe features starters like courgette flowers filled with goats cheese, ratatouille and gazpacho dressing, and layered terrine of goose and apples, green grapes and verjuice. Mains include Whitby cod with tagliatelli pasta, baby leeks and ragout of mussels and scallops, or fricassee of lamb with baby artichokes and truffles. As one would expect from an establishment of these standards, the service is impeccable and all helps to make for an evening you simply will not forget.
