A firm favourite for discerning diners from far and wide, Pecks has just celebrated 25 successful years with a fresh lease of life and no less than four coverted awards.The restaurant, located close to historic Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire and below the famous landmark Mow Cop Castle, just over the Staffordshire border, celebrated its recent change of ownership by winning the Signal Style Restaurant Award (2008), the Cheshire Life Readers Award (2008/9), the Cheshire East Business Award (2009) and the Staffordshire Sentinal English Restaurant Award.?Pecks has been acquired by its most enthusiastic customers, local businessman Andrew Pear and his wife Sue who liked the food so much they bought the restaurant.They are determined to continue in the vein that has made Pecks the venue of choice for generations of diners celebrating special occasions and the stylish makeover inspired by Sue provides an elegant backdrop to acclaimed standards of cuisine and service.Pecks has long been renowned for its dramatic style of presentation, turning the restaurant into a Theatre of Food and providing a unique and complete dining experience.Menus change each month to accommodate the very best seasonal produce, with many ingredients sourced from the surrounding verdant countryside, grown and reared by trusted local suppliers.All dishes are freshly prepared by a kitchen brigade led by Head Chef Les Wassall a Pecks veteran of ten years and highly skilled in complimenting classic British cooking with innovative and assured modern touches.

" For those Platinum members who have not yet had the pleasure of a visit to Pecks I would recommned a visit as soon as you are able. It is a unique restaurant. It is obvious the Head Chef and his team have a real passion for food as whenever I go I am not disappointed by the choice of menu, the quality of ingredients, presentation and impeccable service. It is well deserved as the Hi-Life Platinum Restaurant for 2010. Long may it continue! "

" Neither the food nor the staff ever fail to be exceptional. Always a good night even if the menu that month at first glance does not sound tempting. We often find ourselves choosing differently once the food has been presented and explained before ordering. A totally different occasion than your ordinary resraurant. I´ve been going since it first opened and I still look foward to each visit. Keep up the good work Les! "

" Very impressive decor and nice atmosphere, the food was delicious and there was a good selection of wine.The staff were friendly. I can recommend the scallops and the rum and raisin cheesecake was a total delight! One of our favourite restaurants so far this year and we dine out at Hi Life locations every week and have done for the last five years so this is a carefully thought out recommendation. " Visiting Pecks is always a special occasion,made so especially by the great staff and the format of the meal. Sunday lunch is to be recommended for anyone who can´t face 5 or 7 courses and being able to take ones own wine on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings makes the meal even more enjoyable. Just a small niggle about the new decor- we really miss the ´trompe l´oeil´ that used to enhance one end of the conservatory. The mirror just doesn´t do it for us! "
