Salute is now a prominent fixture on the local dining scene, recently relocated from Oulton, has now found its new home at the White Swan, Rothwell.Situated in the heart of a busy community, conveniently placed just off the M62 and just a short drive from Leeds city centre, the large town of Wakefield and with the scenic Dales on the doorstep this establishment is firmly in the heart of West Yorkshire. Reopened in June 2004 under the expert and professional guidance of Justine Gregory, Operational Director, Salute is friendly, welcoming, relaxed and informal.The company mission statement says it all – “a successful Italian style restaurant and bar, with a vision to exceed customer expectations of food style, quality and service” This is evident from the kitchen, where the team, under the watchful eye of Head Chef, Nick Donson, have a straightforward, uncompromising attitude and commitment to full, meaningful flavours, using the freshest produce from a team of local suppliers.Compliment this with exceptional service from their restaurant team and you start to see that although classed as a neighbourhood restaurant, Salute is quite obviously so much more.

" First visit on Sunday 12/10/12, arriving 30 minutes early, friendly welcome. Had drinks at bar, then to our table. Only had main two courses, which were very good. However grand-daughter did not finish her meal, but staff offered her option to take it home for later. Then we meet friends, who were not dining. We all sat at bar, and had a few drinks. Was aware there was 10% service charge on meal, and service, but not aware this 10% would be added to bar bill? Thought this should be brought to the attention of customers. Other that service charge, service and staff were excellent. "

" The food is not 52% more 82% and the service should also should 82% not 50%!!we´ve been 3-4 the most recent being on friday and honestly, the best of the 4 times we´ve been. The food was very very good. A huge choice usually means poor quality but not at Salute. We took advantage of being able to have pasta asa starter and then a main course. The portions were a good size and as already said, the quality was very very good. We have been to all the ´posh´ restaurants ´Crab and lobster etc´ and this was very close in standard and a lot cheaper. Would definately recommend and would definately go again. "

" We´ve not been to Salute for a while but based on our recent visit it wont be long until we go back again! We had an excellent meal, in a relaxed atmosphere - there were lots of families eating but also couples. The menu offered a good variety of eating options; nice to see some´different´ pasta & pizza choices to the normal run of the mill combinations. Childrens menu was good value and included activity pack. There is also the possibility of outside dining - weather permiting! "

" This has been a favourite restaurant of ours before becoming a Hi-life member and we have now used our card a couple of times with no problems whatsoever. Having a 6yr old we appreciate the fact that kids are made to feel really welcome and will be back on a regular basis. "

" When i tried to book this restaurant they took the booking then as soon as I told them I would be using Hi Life they said "oh all our hi life tables are full", after complaining to Hi Life they called the manager and they honoured the booking. When paying the bill at the end I caught site of the bookings list for the whole evening and there was no one else using hi-life so this place is extremely dis-honest. That aside the food was fantastic, worth the money but I wouldnt go back again due to the above. Be warned hi-life members. "

" A la carte food was overpriced as was the wine. Too many children running in and out of the restaurant. Seemed to be running a £5 meal deal so attracted too many families with kids. Perhaps trying to attract a too wider audience. "

" We have been to this restaurant on 3 occasions now and each time the food has been fantastic and the service has been spot on. Just prior to Christmas, we expected the restaurant to be quiet, but the place was buzzing. We will be returning soon. Graham & Babs Stocks "

" This was our first visit to Salute, but it definitely wont be our last. The surroundings are lovely with a good atmosphere, the restaurant was full, but the service was still excellent as was the food. One of our party was vegetarian and she was quite overhwelmed as she had a choice both for starter and main course (at a lot of restaurants we have visited in the past there is only one veggie option - which doesnt constite a choice) so well done Salute for having a choice for veggies, I also noticed on the menu that they cater for Gluten free diets too. All the staff at Salute were very friendly. They didnt mark our card and at £63 for three people including drinks we thought it was a very reasonably priced night out with good quality enjoyable food. See you soon salute - we´ll be back!!! "

" can´t believe this restaurants got such low percentage just got in (6.10.09) from this restaurant, used 2 cards between 5 of us and saved £45. the busy was packed, the dining area was cramped so we got moved to the bar area with no problem. the liverpudlian waitress called katy had excellent service, with it being busy the service wasn´t slow. the starters was excellent we had the king prawns in lemon chilli special, baked mussles with parmasan cheese and garlic crust and anti pasti´s.these was def worth the money you pay...even without hi life. the main course was not great but not bad, standard...we had the cod, lasagna and pork fillet. and dessert... these was excellent we had cremem brulee...100% recommend, belgian waffle...100% recommend, tiramisu 100% recommend and the apple crumble...give this a miss unless you like it sour overall without hi life i would def. come back again...the waitress was so nice she didn´t mark off my cards...cos she said we was lovely and on top of that she gave us a voucher to use as well excellent!!! "
