" This is real a hidden gem! The restaurant is upstairs of the Houghwood Golf Club and because of this you get wonderful views. It is a fairly large restaurant as they often have functions and events held here. They offer a selective menu which can be viewed online at www.houghwoodgolfclub.co.uk before you visit. On this occasion we went with friends as a party of four. We chose our meals off the al la carte menu and we had the cock and bull (peppered strips of chicken breast and rump steak) grilled cod fillet, grilled lamb chops and chicken supreme (leeks & bacon in a white wine sauce) we also got potatoes and vegetables of the day. We then had sweets of a separate menu. We all agreed that the meals where very good and it is a place will be returning to. They accepted the Hi-Life cards with no issues what so ever so this is a restaurant we will be returning to as soon as possible. "

" This was actually our 2nd visit to this pub/restaurant the other one was some time ago. It is very easy to find via sat nav. They have their own website so it is easy to view their range of meals before you visit. They have a large restaurant area but when we visited they were quite quiet so we were able to sit in the main pub area. They have a very good choice of meals, on this occasion we both had the steak cooked in ale with a short crust pastry topping with hand cooked chips, the meals arrived very promptly and we both agreed that the steak cooked in ale was to a very high standard. We both also had sweets I chose the caramelised apple pie with ice cream and my wife had the crème brulee, these were also very good. We will be visiting here again. Also our card was not marked. "

" Not an intimate restaurant, but does what it should by serving excellent steak cooked by excellent chefs in your view. Starters a bit basic and I would love to see how many desserts they sell, as the main courses are more than enough for any human being. Between 5 of us we had 2 24oz rib eyes, 20oz T bone, 16oz ribeye and a mixed grill. All cooked as we had asked and succulent. Also made money back paid for card in one visit!! "

" We had lunch today and were impressed with the large choice from the a la carte and the specials board.You can eat in the restaurant or the bar. We ordered a drink whilst we looked at the menu and were then showed to our table when the food was ready.The food and the service were excellent with plenty of room around the tables. We will certainly be visiting again in the near future. "

" Me and my girlfriend ate in Marco´s Bar last night and it was amazing! I could not fault anything! Firstly the whole place is lovely looking has a real homely feel about it. The staff are friendly and very helpfull too. When we first got in we was taken to our table which was in the bar area as the waitress said there was a big party in the main dining area and they didnt want us to be put off if the party was noisey (which they weren´t) but this actually suited us as i really liked the bar area! The food was so good ... so so so good! We had a chorizo and ham breaded ball for starters which was utter taste sensation (and prob my favourite dish we had)!!! we had 5 tapas dishes (which was more then enough with their good portion sizes) the deal with the card was 2 for 1 on up to 3 tapas dishes which was perfect amount. The final bill was a very good price as we also had three pints along with dinner ... Estrella on tap WINNNN!! Without doubt I shall be going back to Marco´s Bar again and I cannot believe I have been living so close to the best Tapas Resturant I have eaten in for so long without realising it! 5 Stars Marco! "
