Full Description
The Liverpool Racquet Club was founded in 1874 situated in one of the most exclusive areas of Liverpool. In 1877 the club opened with two racquet courts and an American bowling alley, the latter being converted into two fives courts which eventually where used as squash courts. The blitz in 1941 destroyed various parts of the club and was rebuilt at the end of the war. After total devastation during the Toxeth disturbances the Racquet found it’s current home in the Hargreaves building. The Racquet Club serves, excuse the pun, starters such as chicken and foie gras terrine with piccalilli and melba toast and returns the service with mains such as roast Goosnargh chicken with butternut squash accompanied with black pudding, apple and Lancashire blue cheese. To top off the match enjoy one of their delicious desserts and you will be glad that you have chosen the Racquet Club.
