Swadesh is an exclusive Indian restaurant situated in an idyllic area of Bowdon just a short drive from Altrincham. As you relax within the attractive bar area before entering the quite stunning restaurant you immediately recognize that this is no ‘ordinary’ Indian restaurant but something quite unique. The team that have been brought to Swadesh have worked in some of the finest establishments in the World. The seasonal menu features a vibrant mix of dishes from culinary areas across India. Only the finest and freshest ingredients are used with many of the recipes having been handed down across generations. The beauty and the charm, diversity and depth, simplicity and complexity of Indian cuisine are all behind this showcase.Enjoy starters such as dariya-e-noor jhinga - jumbo prawns marinated with yoghurt, ginger, garlic and five spices mix finished in clay oven with mint chutney or the murgh joshila tikka - succulent pieces of chicken marinated with yogurt and freshly chopped coriander, green chilli and crushed peppercorn. Mains also include exotic seafood curries such as luft-e-dariya - lobster, matured in creamed hung yoghurt marinated and aromatized with saffron, caraway seeds and finished in a golden sauce and fresh coriander. At Swadesh however it is not just the welcoming ambience of the restaurant and the stunning choice of dishes, but also the personal service that they combine with it and the incredible attention to detail.
