Melton's was opened in 1990 by Michael and Lucy Hjort and has since been rewarded by 2 AA Rosettes and critical acclaim in the Good Food Guide.Decorated in light and airy tones, but yet an intimate dining space, they aim to produce high quality food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and even a cursory glance at the menu will prove this to be the case. Try their venison carpaccio with rocket and parmesan shavings or the oriental style pork belly with pak choi, water chestnut and spicy wontons. However, make sure you leave room for dessert as the Yorkshire curd tart-souffle with rum and raisin ice cream is unbeatable.
