Fairways Restaurant
This is real a hidden gem! The restaurant is upstairs of the Houghwood Golf Club and because of this you get wonderful views. It is a fairly large restaurant as they often have functions and events held here. They offer a selective menu which can be viewed online at www.houghwoodgolfclub.co.uk before you visit. On this occasion we went with friends as a party of four. We chose our meals off the al la carte menu and we had the cock and bull (peppered strips of chicken breast and rump steak) grilled cod fillet, grilled lamb chops and chicken supreme (leeks & bacon in a white wine sauce) we also got potatoes and vegetables of the day. We then had sweets of a separate menu. We all agreed that the meals where very good and it is a place will be returning to. They accepted the Hi-Life cards with no issues what so ever so this is a restaurant we will be returning to as soon as possible.

My wife and I have just completed our tenth year of Hi-Life membership and I wanted to let you know the impressive savings we have made. We have used our cards 518 times at over 120 restaurants and the full cost of meals (including drinks-excluding tips) totals £37453. Our actual expenditure has been £25109 giving a Hi-Life saving of £12344 over the 10 year period . We continue to use our cards at least once a week, often twice, and are now saving at least £1800 per year. When we first joined I was somewhat sceptical about the savings that could be made and decided to keep detailed records; but am now totally convinced and wish that we had joined earlier. We can wholeheartedly recommend Hi-Life membership to anyone who enjoys eating out, as in addition to huge savings, we are regularly made aware of new restaurants to try. Thank you for ten years of culinary experiences and we eagerly look forward to the next ten.

Vertigo
We were unable to get through on the telephone so sent an e/mail to book the table, they confirmed back and on arriving at the restaurant apologised straight away for the inconvenience caused. The ambience and design of Vertigo is very luxurious, the waitress was very helpful and friendly and went through the fabulous menu with us to explain certain dishes, when our main courses arrived the side orders were on the ´house´ for the mix up over booking which we thought was a very nice touch. The food was excellent, service superb and I would recommend Vertigo, it is a very expensive restaurant but the Hi-Life card it made a big difference and was a very special evening that we won´t forget.

Rookery Hall Hotel
Stayed here on 30th march and had a meal that evening. I cannot fault the meal. The setting is lovely, the staff are attentive without being obtrusive. Complimentary bread was brought to start we chose garlic, very tasty but would have been nicer if a little but warmer. An amuse bouche of tomato soup was brought. This was extremely tasty for such a small amount. We both ordered the salmon starter which was a delight to look at and certainly didn´t disappoint on flavour. More complimentary bread followed this time we both chose a cheese roll, very nice.... Main courses, hubby had pork loin which he couldn´t fault. I had the duck which was amazing especially the confit rolls which had such depth of flavour. Desserts ... Hubby had the lemon cheesecake and I ordered the assiette of orange. Both were again well presented and had the flavour to match. I would definitely recommend this restaurant....

Restaurant 65
Lunched here this afternoon, had 2 courses and we were both very impressed. Good selection, lovely bread and we were made to feel welcome. Hope to return for the evening menu sometime soon. Hi life card mentioned on the phone and was very welcomed.
